Christ Lutheran Christmas Program

Christ Lutheran had a Christmas program for the P3-2nd grade classes last week. Parker had been practicing her songs at school and singing them for us at home, occasionally. She was very excited to show us her program and she even had a cute little Christmas outfit to go with it. The program was very entertaining, especially with preschoolers front and center. Parker had a hard time keeping her dress down, focusing on singing and not staring at us and staying on the riser, WHERE SHE BELONGED! All in all, it was very cute and the kids did a wonderful job. Parker, you were by far the PRETTIEST snowflake there.

Christmas Crafts

The first of this month, Jeff and I stayed with the King kids while Cinnamon had some much needed rest. I was given tickets to make some Christmas crafts, so Parker, Kalayna and myself made a quick trip to Little Rock to enjoy some of the festivities. Santa was on the premises, but he was also a big long wait which we had to politely decline. Parker and Kalayna were able to make a gingerbread house, cupcake, ornament and a tambourine. The girls had a great time and had already decided by the time we were in car, that we were going again next year!

Thanksgiving 2010

Unfortunately, I didn't take ANY pictures during our Thanksgiving trip to De Queen. I take that back. I took one picture. I will share in a bit. This year was a little different for us due to most of Jeff's family making the trip to Illinois to visit Grandma Cinnamon. So, our brood traveled down to De Queen to spend Thanksgiving with my family. I was in charge of the cooking this year which was scary but turned out wonderful. Jeff also experienced his first actual hunting trip with my family and he survived which was a very good thing! There was a bit wandering down memory lane one night where my siblings and I gathered all of our letter jackets and had a little photo sessions. I will share the lovely picture that we took.

Yes we are all nerdy but we are proud of our nerdiness!!
We ended up lounging around and eating too much but we had a great time. I am sure when we return for Christmas it will be just as entertaining.

Wicked!!!!

Wednesday night, I went to the opening of "Wicked" in Little Rock. I had been looking forward to this for sometime. Unfortunately, I couldn't find anyone to go with me, but I didn't let that stop me! I have never seen a musical live, and I have actually never been interested in them, but I have heard SO many great things about "Wicked" ,so I had to experience it. First, I didn't realize just HOW MANY people would actually be there. It was ridiculous. The parking, waiting, and how there were not any empty seats in the place was crazy. The show was absolutely amazing, and I would give anything to see it again and again, but with better seats the next time. The music, acting, singing and theatrics were absolutely amazing. I have been singing the songs constantly. Parker has enjoyed hearing the music as well. Maybe she will be a Broadway singer!! She loves to sing, dance and show her creative side. Jeff thinks I'm silly, but I am hooked on it!!!! I had seen where a movie adaptation was in the works, and I can't wait for that!!! If you haven't seen it, YOU MUST!! Sorry, didn't take any pictures, but I wish I would have.

Happy Halloween!!

Parker was very excited about going trick or treating this year and even more excited about wearing her costume. She was so happy to pick out the purple crayon. I wish I were more creative and could make her a costume but I live in reality. It just isn't going to happen, maybe next year but doubtful. We ended up driving to Conway tonight to trick or trick with the "cousits" as Parker calls them. Unfortunately, she has picked up a new song. "Trick or Treat, smell my feet, if you don't, I'll pull down your underwear". Hopefully, she doesn't start singing it at school. We picked quite a bit of candy that I know I don't need around the house!! Happy Halloween all!

Pumpkin Patch

Our crew and some of the King crew decided to load up last Saturday and go to the Mayflower pumpkin patch. The kids were so excited to ride on the little tractor train but were even more excited for the corn maze and the hayride. I was secretly wishing I could stay later for the "haunted" hayride, but it didn't quite work in my favor. Parker really liked being able to give her suggestion for turns during the corn maze and really enjoyed picking some corn for me to decorate with at home. Free decorations!! Next, we went on the hayride. It was lovely scenery but a little lengthy for a 3 year old and two 6 year olds. Everyone had a great time and hopefully we can return next year.

Quick Trip to the Zoo

The first weekend in October we decided that we should make one last trip to the zoo before it got too cold. We have been in the Little Rock area for some time and still haven't visited. We all love to see the animals and thought it would be a good way to spend the day. The weather was really nice but there was a little bit of construction going on at the zoo, which wasn't so nice. I believe our favorite animals were the gorilla and the chimpanzees. They definitely knew how to entertain us and create excellent photo opportunities. One large step for me included, petting an opossum! Enjoy!
